Timber prices in Wisconsin, 2026 DNR stumpage values by species

Source: 2026 Stumpage Values, 2026 Rates, Effective Nov. 1, 2025, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Forest Crop Law and Managed Forest Law stumpage rates (PDF, page), in force from November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026. The DNR's own words: "All Values are Statewide 3-year weighted averages calculated using state and county timber sale data" and "Stumpage values used to calculate withdrawal taxes during any specific period are intended for the purposes of the Forest Crop Law and Managed Forest Law. They are not a guarantee of actual market prices and are not intended for use in timber products valuation." So these are three-year averages of public sales used for tax purposes, not this quarter's market. Logs are in dollars per thousand board feet, Scribner Decimal C rule; cord products in dollars per cord (128 cubic feet) or per ton; a dash means the product is not normally harvested, as printed. This edition prints one statewide table rather than the zones of earlier years. No log-rule factor is printed, so no conversion is applied.
