Timber prices in Virginia, Q2 2026: pine and hardwood stumpage
Source: Historic Virginia Timber Stumpage Prices, Virginia Tech Forest Update, 2026 quarter 2, with quarter 1 beside it (page). The page says: "These historic price data have been compiled from TimberMart-South" and "These prices are averaged across the entire state per quarter. As such, they only serve as reference points and are not the exact prices landowners will be paid for their timber." Units differ by product, as the page defines them: pine sawtimber per thousand board feet (MBF) International 1/4" rule, hardwood sawtimber per MBF Doyle rule, oak sawtimber in tons, chip-n-saw and pulpwood per ton of green wood. The Virginia Department of Forestry has no 2026 price report of its own; its Selling Timber page points to this table. The last column converts the oak sawtimber row to dollars per MBF Doyle at 9.0 tons per MBF Doyle, the hardwood factor printed in the Arkansas and Texas reports (factors); the pine row is already per MBF (International) and is left as printed. The page carries the series back to 1990.
