Timber prices in Massachusetts, Q2 2026: New England survey

Source: Southern New England Stumpage Price Survey Results, Second Quarter 2026 (April to June), UMass Extension with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, posted September 2026 (PDF, survey page). The survey covers Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island as two regions, east and west of the Connecticut River, not Massachusetts alone. Sawtimber in dollars per thousand board feet, International 1/4" scale, as the number of reports, minimum, maximum and median per species and region; 26 timber sales were reported for the quarter, and "Reporting is voluntary, and this is not a complete record of sale activity in the southern New England region." The survey's own words: "PLEASE USE WITH CARE! This information is meant to be used as a guide only. Prices paid for standing timber can be influenced by many factors, including but not limited to: timber quality, distance to market, accessibility of property, sale volume, market demand, season, skid distance, terrain, landowner requirements, method of sale ... and logging costs." A zero means no report or a zero price as printed. No conversion to Doyle is applied: the only published factor (1.695, from Penn State) was derived for Pennsylvania logs.
