What standing timber sold for in 20 US states, by species, from each state's latest report
Timber prices in Kentucky, Jan-Jun 2026: delivered log prices
Source: Kentucky Delivered Log Price Report, 1st and 2nd Quarters 2026, Kentucky Division of Forestry, July 2026 (PDF, archive). Read this before the numbers: these are prices paid at the mill for delivered logs, not stumpage. The report's own words, in capitals in the original: "This survey represents approximate log pricing received at the mill by the logger or individual selling to the mill. This does not represent, imply, or assume pricing for standing timber on your farm or woodland. Farmers and landowners will receive stumpage prices less than those listed in this report by as much as 50% or more in some instances." Kentucky publishes no stumpage report; the University of Kentucky's delivered-price page carries the same series. Values are dollars per thousand board feet, Doyle log rule, as a high and low per species for each of four regions; Region 3 mills quote the International 1/4" rule for most species, shown in their own columns. Veneer-log prices are listed where mills reported them; the report's stave and tie columns are left out here. No conversion to stumpage is possible from this report.
