Timber prices in Georgia 2026: per-ton values by product

This is not a market quarterly: it is the annual table the Revenue Commissioner gives county tax assessors, "the weighted average price paid in pounds and measured volume of softwood and hardwood pulpwood, chip and saw logs, saw timber, poles, and fuel wood", used to value timber harvested by the owner during the calendar year; "The prices quoted on the tables are per ton." The 159-county table contains two distinct price sets, so the rows are shown per product for each county group: the 107 southern and central counties and the 52 northern counties (the group names are ours; the PDF lists the price by county). Georgia has no state-agency or extension quarterly with printed per-product rows: the Georgia Forestry Commission's timber sales page points to TimberMart-South, whose free Georgia page shows charts without figures. The last column converts sawtimber rows to dollars per MBF Doyle using Pine sawtimber 8.0 tons per MBF Doyle and hardwood sawtimber 9.0 tons per MBF Doyle, the factors printed in the Arkansas and Texas reports (factors).
